About Harry
Harry, also known by his artist name Typho, is an independent songwriter from Leeds, UK. With a musical journey spanning over seven years, he has cultivated a deep passion for writing and producing music. In addition to helping online students navigate Ableton Live, Harry has found fulfilment in sharing his expertise with others as a piano and guitar teacher in schools. He specialises in teaching complete beginners, ensuring they receive a solid foundation and are empowered to pursue their musical aspirations. In 2015, he earned a BSc (Hons) degree in Music Technology. Following graduation, Harry ventured to Auckland, New Zealand, where he worked as a studio recording engineer, honing his skills in the realm of sound production. During this time he has adeptly utilised various music production and sound editing software, among which he finds Ableton Live to be the most versatile and user-friendly for writing, editing, recording, mixing, and mastering music. I offer practical lessons for Ableton Live using screen share on Zoom. Using this software I will teach you songwriting, recording, production, editing, and mixing/mastering at beginner - intermediate - advanced level. You will learn how to navigate the software and learn the techniques that will enable you to start making your own finished pieces of music. You will have the opportunity to create songs from scratch, develop your skills and release your inner creativity. Through these lessons, you will be able to create your own professional-sounding music all the way from an idea to a fully finished production. I'm happy to teach students of any level and age, in any style. For those of you who record real instruments/vocals I will also teach you about proper microphone placement and acoustic room treatment so you can get the best sound possible in your home studio. I knew Ableton Live was fairly straightforward to learn to begin with yet I still struggled. Harry took that simple approach to a whole 'nother level, I appreciate how easy it was to follow along and understand the different features of Ableton. Would definitely recommend to anyone who's also felt lost in the sea of MP tutorials--book a lesson, you won't be disappointed.
I booked a lesson with Harry as I wanted to get to grips with Ableton Live. He was friendly and helpful and really put mind at ease when explaining the material. I will definitely be booking again!
Harry was very easy to understand and his instructions were clear and simple to follow along with. He picked up quickly what my knowledge level was and adjusted his approach accordingly. I feel I learned a lot about Ableton in just an hour with him. Nice guy would definitely recommend.
Harry is very patient and is able to break down complicated processes and concepts into smaller and digestible units of information. He is very comfortable with Ableton and took me from not knowing anything to incremental stages of knowledge. He was able to point out useful features, made sure I was comfortable with layout and understood all the items he was teaching. All without getting too much in the weeds or over loaded with details. He's a great fit for someone who is not comfortable with the DAW and needs guidance. I can't recommend him more.
