About Katherine
I am a junior at the University of Virginia studying Economics and Politics. I have experience with tutoring children at Greer Elementary School in Charlottesville, helping first grade students through their English and Math classwork. I also volunteer weekly with an international student at UVa and spend an hour with them improving their vocabulary, writing skills, and conversational skills. Additionally, I have served as a teaching assistant for a non-profit that promotes learning in a creative, dynamic, peer-to-peer environment.

My approach as a tutor is to help motivate my students through goal-setting. I like to create an outline of what we would like to achieve together, and then develop a schedule to reach that goal. That being said, I am also a large proponent of tackling problems creatively. Together with my students, I hope to develop a study routine that is unique and personal to their learning needs, and is an efficient and exciting use of their time.
