About Malaika
I recently graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honors Bachelor of Science. Throughout my degree, I worked on research spanning astronomy, physics, artificial intelligence, and data analysis, including published research in astronomy.
Having recently been a student myself, I understand how frustrating it can be when a concept just does not click. I have learned that success in technical subjects is much less about being naturally "good" at them and much more about developing intuition, asking questions, and getting enough practice.
I aim to create a comfortable and encouraging environment where students can ask questions freely, make mistakes, and build confidence in their abilities. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them become more confident and independent learners.

I focus on building strong intuition and a genuine understanding of concepts, followed by lots of practice because practice really does make perfect. I break difficult topics down into simple ideas, work through examples together, and gradually build toward solving problems independently and confidently.
As a recent University of Toronto graduate in Astronomy & Astrophysics and Cognitive Science, I understand what it is like to be a student and how the learning process actually works. I use many of the techniques I wish I had developed earlier in my own education, focusing on understanding the "why" instead of memorizing, practicing consistently, and learning from mistakes.
Each lesson is tailored to the student and includes plenty of guided and independent practice. I am happy to work with high school and undergraduate students in physics, astronomy, mathematics, and introductory Python, whether you are preparing for an exam, struggling with a course, or simply want to strengthen your understanding.
