About Megan
Hello,
My name is Megan and I am a second year student studying biomedical science at the University of Liverpool. I studied maths, biology and psychology at A level.
I completely understand the stress of exams and not understanding a topic despite the amount of work you put in. Trust me when I say it sometimes takes that one teacher or one video for it to click and you understand it!
Having tutored family members and some first years in some modules I quickly realised it was something I really enjoyed. Not only does it test me but it is so rewarding seeing someone finally understand something or when they get a great grade back.
I completely understand that it can be stressful but my goal with the lessons is to keep it as fun and stress free as possible. No focus on grades just complete focus on making sure you understand the content and you are comfortable with it.
This is what will get you the best grades and fully understanding a topic eliminates a lot of that stress!
As I am a student myself hopefully this will remove the pressure slightly as I am not a typical "teacher".

I like to know how you learn best so that will be discussed in the first meeting. I believe everyone learns and understands things in a different way so this is important to discuss.
It can take time to fully understand a topic so I like to go back to topics a bit later to cement the knowledge as this is a highly effective technique.
I like lessons to be mainly student led. If there is a specific topic you are struggling on or have just learnt and don't understand then we can focus on that.
Exam questions are great for testing your knowledge so they will be used and it helps get you used to the style of exams.
Lessons average 1-2 hours with most being 90 minutes.
I have tutored family members and worked with some first years for some modules.
I teach those in high school from year 7 up to and including those studying for their GCSE's and A levels.
