About Samantha
I’ve always believed in passing it on. The advice, guidance, and encouragement I received from my own teachers and older peers made a massive difference in how I approached my studies—and now I want to do the same for others. Tutoring is my way of giving back, of helping students feel supported, seen, and capable—just like I once was. I have a real love for the humanities—especially History, English Literature, and Politics. These subjects have shaped the way I think, write, and see the world, and I’m passionate about helping others unlock that same excitement and confidence. Whether it’s unpacking a tricky source or analysing a powerful poem, I want my students to find their own voice and make sense of the material in a way that actually sticks. I’ve had experience teaching younger years through school mentoring programmes, and I know how important it is to meet students where they are—no judgement, just support, strategy, and a bit of motivation along the way.

My Approach to Tutoring: I design my lessons around practical application and real understanding—not just rote learning. I tailor each session to the student’s interests and learning style, making even complex topics feel accessible and relevant. Whether it’s exploring Shakespeare through pop culture references or breaking down a Tudor history essay like a debate, I keep it engaging and clear whilst keeping true focus on the understanding of the specification. To deepen learning, I use active recall strategies—helping students retain knowledge in the long term and apply it confidently in exams. Each lesson builds on what’s come before, so students not only learn the material but understand how to use it effectively. Lesson Format & Duration: Lessons typically run between 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the student’s schedule and focus level. Qualifications & Experience: I hold Grade 8s at GCSE and am currently predicted A*/A in A-Level History, English Literature, and Politics. I’ve supported a range of students as my school's sole History and Politics ambassador. I introduced a peer tutoring scheme to help students develop their understanding through teaching and bringing a student perspective that makes material feel less intimidating and more accessible.
