About Evelyn
I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker and Seattle University graduate. I hold a professional Mandarin proficiency certificate, which demonstrates my strong command of standard Mandarin pronunciation and spoken Chinese.
Having studied and lived in both China and the United States, I understand the challenges English speakers may face when learning Chinese. I am patient, friendly, and passionate about helping students build confidence in Mandarin. I welcome students of all ages and levels, whether you are learning Chinese for school, work, travel, or simply for fun!

My Chinese lessons are personalized to each student’s level, goals, and interests. Whether you are a complete beginner or already have some experience with Chinese, I can help you improve your pronunciation, speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
I especially focus on practical Mandarin that you can use in real-life conversations. We can work on correct pronunciation and tones, daily conversation, vocabulary, grammar, Chinese characters, or specific topics you are interested in.
My goal is to create a relaxed and encouraging learning environment where you feel comfortable speaking Chinese and making progress at your own pace. Lessons are available for children, teenagers, and adults of all levels.
