About Luis
My name is Luis; I’m 21 years old, and I’m a zoology student at the University of Glasgow. Teaching has always been something I’ve enjoyed doing, whether it’s helping someone learn to read or teaching my mum the offside rule. I just love the feeling when it clicks and they understand something they’ve been struggling with.

My approach to tuition revolves around explaining concepts in a digestible manner to avoid being overwhelmed with information. While many people revise by memorising textbook definitions, I find that understanding the fundamentals not only helps retain the information better but also allows you to grasp the subject better as a whole, helping you think for yourself in an exam environment. However, finding someone who explains things in a way you can understand is easier said than done, as many teachers and tutors seek to bombard you with information for notes, and while some people prefer to learn this way, I certainly do not. Throughout my own education, there have been many times where I’ve struggled to grasp simple concepts solely because they weren’t explained to me in a way I could wrap my head around, and that didn’t take for granted any prior knowledge. Everybody’s brain works differently, so I’m always happy to accommodate new ways of teaching to best suit each student.
