About Renee
Hi my name is Renee! I am currently an undergraduate student at Colorado State University studying biomedical engineering and chemical and biological engineering to pursue a future career as a genetic engineer. I love helping others in any way that I can and have always had a passion for tutoring. One of my backup career goals is to become a math teacher to show students that math is easier than it may seem and to motivate students through a more engaging teaching system. In high school, my math teachers would place me next to struggling students and would notice an increase in their grades from my help. Every year of high school, I was offered to be a part of their peer tutoring group, but unfortunately had to decline due to my busy school schedule. I took a total of 6 math credits out of a required 3 in high school; honors geometry, honors algebra 2, honors precalculus, AP calculus BC, AP statistics, and college calculus 3 and differential equations. I scored a 750 in the math section of the SAT with AP scores of 5 in calculus AB, 4 in calculus BC, and 4 in statistics.

I work with students individually in 1-on-1 sessions as I find that personal connection and attention keeps students accountable, focused, and helps them retain information better. I have been tutoring high school and college-level math professionally online since September 2020. I primarily tutor math but can help in other subjects related to science such as chemistry. I tutor casually and informally yet precisely and clearly as I see all students as people first and keep everything casual to build a personal connection with students and encourage a greater understanding.
