About Izzy
Hello! My name is Izzy and I am currently studying to become a teacher. Teaching has always been a passion of mine because I love helping children grow in confidence and discover their own strengths. While English is my main subject, I am confident teaching all areas of the Primary National Curriculum and enjoy adapting my approach to suit different learning styles. I aim to create engaging, supportive lessons that make learning enjoyable and help students make steady progress. Outside of teaching, I am passionate about sports and musical theatre (my favourite is Hamilton). I love watching live performances and exploring new sports- ice skating is my favourite to take part in, but I enjoy the atmosphere of any live event. Another hobby of mine is playing the piano, which I find calming and enjoy learning new songs when they get released!

My maths tutoring approach focuses on building confidence, understanding, and problem-solving skills in a supportive and engaging environment. I break down complex concepts into manageable steps and use practical examples to make learning accessible and enjoyable. Lessons are tailored to each student’s learning style, whether they benefit from visual aids, step-by-step explanations, or interactive problem-solving exercises. I also incorporate regular review and practice to reinforce learning and track progress. A typical lesson lasts 45 minutes- 1 hour, providing time to review previous work, introduce new topics, and complete targeted exercises. My lessons are suitable for students from early primary up to early secondary school levels who want to improve understanding, gain confidence, or prepare for assessments and school exams.
