About Katie
Through my lessons, I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment tailored to each student. I have a strong background in math and chemistry, supported by a rigorous course schedule in high school and my undergraduate studies at UCLA. My approach emphasizes the “why” behind each topic rather than memorization. I enjoy helping students break down challenging concepts and build the confidence they need to succeed.

I emphasize conceptual understanding over rote memorization in my lessons! I teach through guided examples, typically starting with problems students find most challenging and working through problems similar to those they see in a class to prepare them for exams. Lessons will typically include a brief review, a worked through example with the student, and some independent practice with feedback. My lessons are primarily for middle school to high school level of chemistry and math.
