About Ella

I am currently studying BSc Biological Sciences (Cells and Development) at university, where I focus on cellular biology, molecular processes, and developmental systems. My degree has strengthened both my scientific knowledge and my analytical thinking skills, which I bring directly into my tutoring.

I have a genuine passion for biology and the sciences, and I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into clear, understandable explanations. Studying at degree level has given me a deeper understanding of the GCSE curriculum, allowing me to explain not just what students need to know, but why it works - which greatly improves retention and confidence.

Alongside my academic studies, I am committed to helping students reach their potential. I understand the challenges of GCSE exams and the pressure students face, and I aim to create a supportive, structured learning environment that builds both skill and self-belief.

My enthusiasm for science, combined with strong subject knowledge and a clear teaching approach, allows me to help students progress from secure mid-level grades to top achievement.

I am an experienced GCSE tutor specialising in Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics at GCSE standard. I focus on helping students currently working at Grade 5/6 reach Grade 8/9 through structured lessons, exam-focused strategies, and confidence building.

With a strong academic background in the sciences and mathematics, I have developed clear, effective methods for explaining complex topics in a simple, memorable way. My tutoring approach combines:

--> Clear topic breakdowns aligned with the GCSE specification

--> Regular exam-style practice with mark scheme training

--> Targeted support on weak areas

--> Techniques for maximising marks in higher-tier papers

--> Progress tracking and personalised revision plans

I have experience working with students of varying abilities and understand how to adapt explanations to suit different learning styles. My goal is not only to improve grades, but to build confidence and independent problem-solving skills.

Students I have worked with have successfully moved from mid-level performance (Grades 5/6) to high achievement (Grades 8/9) through consistent, focused preparation.
