About Kabir
Hey, I'm Kabir, a 1st year student studying Law at the University of Exeter. Although I am not studying English at a degree level, I'm confident that with my exemplary track record at GCSE and A-levels in English Language and Literature, combined with my overall enthusiasm for the subject, I can help you get the grades that you are truly capable of. No matter how limited or extensive your knowledge of your set texts is, I am confident that I can help you to further your understanding of your texts at a textual level, but also teach you how to combine other components such as contextual and linguistic features in order to achieve the highest marks possible.

What are my qualifications? I achieved grade 9 in both English Literature and Language at GCSE. I have also achieved an A* in Combined English Language and Literature at A-level. Who are my lessons for? My lessons are for students studying in England between Years 10-13 (15-18 years old), as these are key years for GCSEs and A-level exams respectively. How long are my lessons typically? My lesson length is open to change based on the availability of my students, but I would recommend 1-2 hour lessons in order to ensure that my students can ask as many questions as they need to regarding any content that they are finding difficult. What do I teach specifically? I am open to teach any aspect of the GCSE/A-level courses, having studied Shakespearean plays such as 'The Tempest' and 'The Merchant of Venice', as well as poetry anthologies in both my GCSEs and A-levels. However, I am aware that some students may need assistance with understanding other components such as language features, or they may simply want me to look over their essays and offer advice, all of which I am open to doing. I prefer to teach with a more adaptive style, with my first session with prospective students being a diagnostic lesson, designed to ascertain a better understanding of which texts the student is studying, as well as which areas they are struggling with. Once I have an understanding of which areas the student feels confident and unsure about, I will then focus on improving the student's understanding of the areas that they are most unsure about, then build up towards a more rounded approach to their teaching, which will improve their understanding in all aspects.
