About Jiya
I am an undergraduate student at Rutgers University School of Arts and Science. I am also part of the Honors College at Rutgers University, a highly selective program limited to less than 5 percent of the entire school. Throughout my high school experience, I took 7 AP classes, including AP literature and composition, AP language and composition, AP Biology, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP Microeconomics, and AP United States History. I maintained a 3.96 unweighted GPA and a 4.78 weighted GPA all throughout high school. I also scored a 780 on the math section of the Digital SAT. Beyond my academics, I also worked alongside the Rutgers University Waksman Institute for four years and made seven publications of my work all throughout high school. I also have played the violin for the last 8 years, and was a part of a youth Orchestra in Princeton. Alongside with helping with academics, I am experienced in assisting students in finding extracurriculars to help them stand out.

As a student myself, I have tried various forms of learning techniques. Through finding my best techniques, I earned a 3.96 unweighted High School GPA and a 4.78 weighted GPA. I believe heavily in techniques such as the Feynman Technique, and am well experienced in how to succeed academically using this Technique. My process involves:
1. Learning through a goal-oriented mindset, and setting ambitions to help achieve goals
2. Teaching content through in an adaptive setting that is entirely personalized to the strengths of my students.
3. Aiding students to recall information learned, creating a plan that allows them to learn content beyond just memorization, and helping them build plans to make sure they don't procrastinate their learning and work.
4. Providing additional practice and as many sessions needed during the week. In addition to weekly sessions, I can provide office hours for my students to drop by and ask questions.
5. Helping students build metacognition through providing them techniques that will help them condense the time and efforts they need to study, while still attaining high grades and expected results.
