About Jennifer
Hello, my name is Jennifer. I'm a Sociology student at the University of Manchester. I have been studying Sociology for 6 years and studied Philosophy for 2 years. I do have a detailed understanding of the Philosophy and Sociology AQA mark schemes and because of this, I will be able to deliver a tailored tutoring experience that not only takes into account what is required from the mark scheme but also your learning style. My teaching style does vary from person to person and I prefer to tailor how I teach based on what my students tell me works best for them. So, I do tend to let my students take control of the first tutoring sessions. This is to give you room to tell me what will work best for you and to ensure that you gain the most from the remaining sessions that will be provided. While I do tailor my sessions, something that I do for all sessions is to make sure that my students thoroughly understand what the mark scheme asks of them to help my students grow confident in their ability to understand and digest the content that they are learning. Apart from helping you to understand your course content, I am also open to helping with examination skills as I am confident in the skills needed to achieve high marks. Thus, my sessions can cover a range of things, from understanding the content to understanding how to answer exam questions and what is expected from an examiner. I am very patient and understand that progress takes time, keeping this in mind, I will make sure to go at the pace that is comfortable for you as well as suggest areas that may need improvement to make sure that you get the most out of our sessions. I have 2 years of tutoring experience and have been online tutoring for 4 months. My experience as a tutor has been very positive. My students have managed to move up 1 or 2 grades after I tutored them. I am capable of working with you as you start your tutoring journey at Tutorful and I will make sure to provide you with a good tutoring experience using the skills that I have accumulated over these past two years.

I have been tutoring A-level Sociology for 3 years, and A-level Philosophy for 1 year. My tutoring style is heavily dependent on what the student prefers. I tend to ask the student how they retain information best and from that, I tailor my sessions to their tutoring needs. My lessons usually last an hour, however, I am willing to extend the time if requested. I offer sessions to GCSE and A-level students.
