About Quincy
Hi, I'm Quincy, an undergraduate at USC's Marshall School of Business studying Business Administration. I'm originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and grew up as a student athlete before shifting my focus fully to academics, a transition that gave me firsthand insight into the pressure and uncertainty many students feel during the college application process.
As an Eagle Scout, I completed over 300 hours of community service, including leading a project to build a community firepit for local youth. Through USC's Troy Camp program, I currently mentor underserved youth in Los Angeles, and I have worked with students on college essays and core academic skills through 826LA and tutoring programs in Atlanta.
I'm working toward a career in the sports and entertainment business industry, and I bring the same organization, attention to detail, and follow through to every tutoring session. My goal is simple: help students feel prepared, confident, and proud of the work they submit, whether that's a standout personal statement or a stronger grasp of algebra and geometry.

Teaching Method and Techniques
For college essays, I take a coaching approach. I help students find the stories that best represent who they are, then guide them through outlining, drafting, and revision while protecting their voice. Feedback focuses on content first, then organization, then grammar and polish. For algebra and geometry, I build conceptual understanding before drilling problem sets, using clear steps and visual aids so students gain confidence rather than memorize shortcuts.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Each session opens with a quick check in on goals and any questions from last time. The core 40 to 50 minutes is focused work, either revising an essay draft, working through application materials, or practicing math problems with guided instruction. We close with a recap and a clear action item for next time.
What Sets Me Apart
I recently went through the college application process myself as a current USC Marshall School of Business undergraduate, so I know what admissions readers look for and what the process feels like from a student's seat. I bring direct tutoring experience from 826LA and tutoring programs in Atlanta, working with students on essays, applications, and core academic skills, plus a clear, college level writing style.

My lessons work best for high school juniors and seniors preparing college applications, especially personal statements, supplemental essays, and application strategy. I also support middle and high school students building a stronger foundation in algebra and geometry for coursework, test prep, or general confidence.
