About Lara
I am a university student studying biomedical sciences at the University of Exeter. I struggled with a chronic condition from the ages of 13-17 which ensured I had around 30% attendance to in-person school, so had to find strategies to teach myself my GCSE content. In the end, I ended up finding great strategies and helping many of my classmates along the way. In Year 12 I tutored 5 Year 11 pupils, who all increased their mock grades from Cs to As by the end of the year. This made me want to continue tutoring when I could as I found it so fulfilling.

I ensure I have a plan of action for each lesson, getting to know my tutees and what individually works for them. I ensure that they are engaging and use active learning to get the most out of sessions. I am always open to trying different techniques with students to ensure they understand concepts as many people learn in different ways.
