About Robert
You aren't struggling with your classes because you're inept. All you need is some support, someone to tell you that you're capable of passing that hurdle, and more importantly, someone who will show you how to. It may not always be easy, and it may take some time, but you have it in you to accomplish whatever you put your mind to. I've met with students who said they'd never imagined themselves understanding the material, some who passed with a grade they never expected, and others who were surprised at how easy the thing they were struggling with actually is. It's never a lack of wrinkles in the brain, all they need is a change in perspective and a little push in the right direction.

We start with the tutee's goals and what they wish to see coming out of these lessons; maybe they just want to get the class over with, come out confident enough to be able to explain the process to someone else, or end the class with an A, B, or C. Whatever your expectations are of yourself, I'll make sure to help you in achieving them.
The ideal session is when someone is confused about a topic, they may or may not know what they're confused about, so we go ahead and start with some examples that show the process of finding the solutions, at the same time, making sure that the information is concise and easy to follow. If it comes to it, I will let them know what they should be on the lookout for or what they should be memorizing to make their future attempts feel simple.
I believe what sets me apart is my sense of accommodation. If you need to speed it up, we'll speed it up. If you need some time to take it in, we'll slow the pace. If you want more in-depth reasoning, I'll explain with visuals. If you don't care about it, then fugettaboutit.
I find myself working best with undergraduates who are trying to get by while they already have enough classes to deal with (I've been and am still there).
I cannot consider myself an absolute professional in these fields. I can say I did great enough in the following that I feel confident enough to tutor someone:
-Math (Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Trig, Pre-Calc, Calc 1&2 some Calculus 3, and a good hang at Statistics)
-Chemistry (Intro and General Chemistry Series with a DECENT understanding of Organic Chemistry I)
-Physics (Kinematics, Structural Mechanics, and a decent understanding of both Optics and Electromagnetism)
