About Jose
My name is Jose Campos, a rising senior at Rhode Island College, majoring in History and Education. Growing up in a humble, single-parent family, with five siblings, has shaped me into an empathetic and understanding individual. This awakening led to the realization that teachers have the potential to be the most influential person in a student's life, and the importance of diversity in this role. Throughout my school years, I mainly encountered white female educators. These dedicated teachers inspired me, yet I also recognized a need for diverse role models. I aim to fill this gap, bringing not only my Hispanic background but also a rich array of experiences that can resonate with many students, especially those from underprivileged families. My passion lies in teaching history, an essential subject deeply connected to our understanding of the world. Equipped with a strong academic knowledge, empathy, and commitment, I am ready to offer students a perspective needed to navigate the future. I am eager to be an educator who can inspire, uplift, and most importantly, influence students positively.
