About Siddarth
Hi, I'm Siddarth, an undergraduate student at UNC Chapel Hill double majoring in business and data science. Alongside my coursework, I currently intern at a wealth management firm, where I work with financial data and analysis on a daily basis, giving me hands-on experience applying math to real-world problems.
I've always enjoyed helping others understand material that once challenged me, and I bring that same patience and clarity to tutoring. My academic background means I'm not just familiar with the material — I actively use these concepts in my coursework and professional work, so I can explain not only how to solve a problem, but why it matters. Hey, I'm Sid — a business and data science student who tutors math from arithmetic through calculus. My approach centers on building intuition first, then reinforcing it with structured practice, since I've found students retain concepts far better once they understand the "why" behind a formula, not just the steps.
A typical lesson starts with reviewing any questions from homework or previous material, followed by a short explanation of the new concept using real-world examples, then guided practice where I work through problems alongside the student before letting them try independently. I always leave time at the end for questions and a quick recap.
What sets me apart is a results-driven approach: I track where a student is struggling across sessions and adjust lesson plans accordingly, rather than repeating the same generic material. I'm patient, direct, and focused on measurable improvement, not just completing assignments.
