About Dalton
My name is Dalton, and I approach tutoring with a strong emphasis on clarity, consistency, and professionalism. I take the responsibility of teaching seriously and make sure each lesson is well-prepared, focused, and tailored to the student’s goals. Students and parents can expect punctuality, clear communication, and a structured learning experience from the very first session.
I believe effective tutoring is about more than explaining answers. I focus on helping students understand why concepts work so they can apply them independently and with confidence. I adapt quickly to different learning styles and adjust pacing as needed, ensuring that lessons feel productive rather than overwhelming. My approach is calm, patient, and supportive, especially for students who feel anxious or discouraged about math.
I aim to create a learning environment that is both focused and encouraging. Students are given space to ask questions, make mistakes, and think through problems without pressure. My goal is to help students feel supported while steadily improving their understanding, confidence, and academic performance over time.

I’m Dalton, a math tutor with over eight years of experience working with students from elementary school through college-level coursework. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from UNC Chapel Hill, and I’ve spent years helping students build both skill and confidence in math. My approach is patient, collaborative, and focused on making concepts actually click rather than relying on memorization or rushed explanations.
My lessons are structured but flexible. We usually start by identifying what the student is currently working on and where things feel confusing or frustrating. From there, I break concepts down into simple, logical steps and work through examples together before letting the student try problems on their own with guidance. I adjust my teaching style to the student, whether they need visual explanations, step-by-step walkthroughs, or real-world examples to better understand the material.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to connect quickly with students and adapt to how they learn. I’ve worked extensively in one-on-one settings and have experience supporting students with learning differences and special needs. I aim to create a relaxed, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My lessons are designed to help students not only improve their grades, but also feel more confident and capable when approaching math on their own.
I offer lessons for K–12 students, college students, and adult learners studying subjects such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, and test preparation. Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for an exam, or strengthening their foundation, I tailor each lesson to meet their specific goals and learning style.
