About Ritvick
My name is Ritvick, and I am a UCSB Mechanical Engineering student with a strong academic record and a proven history of helping students succeed. I am a straight-A student with a 4.7 GPA, and I bring the same discipline, organization, and commitment to tutoring that has guided my own academic journey. I have extensive tutoring experience, having worked with over 40 students in SAT math and school mathematics. Through structured lessons and targeted practice, I have helped every one of these students achieve 1450+ SAT scores and earn A’s in their math classes. My approach emphasizes clear explanations, targeted strategies, and confidence-building so students are fully prepared for exams and coursework. Beyond academics, I am an Eagle Scout, which reflects my leadership, responsibility, and strong work ethic. I played four years of high school basketball, developing teamwork, perseverance, and the ability to motivate others. I was also a member of my school’s robotics team, math olympiad team, and science olympiad, experiences that strengthened my analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and deepened my passion for STEM education. I am reliable, patient, and professional, and I strive to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and challenging themselves. As a tutor, my goal is not only to improve grades and test scores, but to help students build lasting confidence and strong foundations in math and physics.

My name is Ritvick, and my approach as a tutor is centered on building strong conceptual understanding while helping students gain confidence and independence in math and physics. I focus on breaking down complex topics into simple, logical steps and explaining the why behind each method, rather than relying on memorization. I adapt my explanations to each student’s learning style, using real examples, visual reasoning, and guided problem-solving.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material or homework to identify any gaps. We then focus on the main topic for the session, where I explain key concepts step by step and work through example problems together. After that, students practice similar problems on their own while I provide feedback, hints, and alternative strategies. Each lesson ends with a short summary and clear next steps so students know exactly what to review before our next session.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my strong academic background as a UCSB Mechanical Engineering student and a straight-A, 4.7 GPA achiever. I understand not only how to solve problems, but how to teach them in a way that makes sense to students at different levels. I’m patient, structured, and focused on helping students truly understand the material, not just get through assignments.
My lessons are designed for middle school and high school students taking math and physics courses, including pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, and introductory physics. I work especially well with students who want clearer explanations, stronger foundations, better grades, or improved test performance.
