About Rachel
I've been tutoring difficult subjects for three years, and working with children for even longer. I have a passion for science and I'm studying chemistry at UCLA in order to go into the field of forensics. I'm also passionate about many other things, including art, music (piano, choir), and writing.

Typically, I begin each session with a brief lesson on the topic. We then move into homework or practice problems. I make sure to guide the students through the questions and to the correct answers on their own so they feel confident with the material. I also aim to cultivate a relationship with the students to ensure that they feel comfortable asking any questions. I also try to make learning exciting and I tell them about why I personally love the subjects. I'm good at explaining difficult concepts, and my students enjoy that I'm personable and engaging.

Rachel has tutored my 11th grader in both calculus and chemistry and has been instrumental in helping her understand the material. She has a lot of patience and is able to explain complicated ideas in an understandable way. She’s good at keeping my daughter focused on the material and is very reliable and flexible with her scheduling. Rachel is my go-to person for tutoring when my daughter needs a little extra help. Rachel tutored me back when I took chemistry at my college. My chem class consisted of General, Organic, and Biochemistry. She was very knowledgeable in each subject and was able to make things more clear when I didn’t understand. She does lots of practice problems until you understand the material. Overall a really great tutor. 10/10 would recommend.

For any college classes I charge $60 an hour. I charge $50 an hour for high school level or below. I'll be flexible on price depending on frequency of lessons!
