About Rani

My name is Rani, and I'm currently a student at UCL. In my free time, I read and write widely, and I'd love to help others discover that same enthusiasm for English and unlock their full potential on their learning journey.
English is a subject close to my heart — it's not just about reading and writing, but about learning to think critically, express ideas with clarity and confidence, and see the world through different perspectives. There's nothing I find more rewarding than watching a student go from feeling unsure about a text to genuinely understanding and enjoying it. I love breaking down complex ideas — whether it's unpicking a tricky poem, structuring a persuasive argument, or finding your own voice in creative writing — and making them feel simple, engaging, and even fun.
I also believe English is one of the most valuable skills you can develop, because it underpins how we communicate in every part of life, not just in exams. That's why I'm passionate about going beyond the classroom: sharing practical tips and techniques that make top grades genuinely achievable, and offering the kind of personalised support that isn't always available at school.
Having tutored students one-on-one, I've seen first-hand how the right guidance and encouragement can transform confidence and results — helping students achieve exceptional grades and, just as importantly, a real love for the subject. I'd love to bring that same support and passion to you.

About the lesson

Having achieved top grades in GCSE English myself, I know exactly what examiners are looking for — not just in theory, but from firsthand experience of what actually works under exam pressure. I use this insight to give students practical, exam-specific strategies rather than generic advice, so they know precisely how to turn their ideas into the marks they deserve.
Every lesson is fully tailored to the individual student. I combine 1-to-1 support with custom-built lesson slides, interactive quizzes, and regular progress checkpoints, ensuring every concept is properly understood — not just memorised — before we move on. This isn't a one-size-fits-all approach: to kick things off, each new student completes a short diagnostic assessment suited to their age and level, so I can identify their specific strengths, gaps, and learning style right from the start.
Having already helped students on a 1-to-1 basis achieve exceptional results, I know how to spot exactly where a student is struggling and adjust my teaching to fix it — quickly and effectively. But my focus isn't only on grades. I'm committed to building genuine confidence, independent learning skills, and a real understanding of English, so students don't just improve for one exam, but carry those skills forward for life.
With a personalised, structured, and results-driven approach, I don't just help students pass — I help them excel.
