About Ashvika
Hi, I’m Ashvika and I’m a first-year Medical Student at University College London (UCL), and I achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE English Language.
I know that English Language can sometimes feel difficult, especially when you know what you want to say but aren’t sure how to structure it into a high-mark answer. My aim is to help students build confidence in developing their own ideas and learn how to turn them into well-structured answers that meet the assessment objectives.
I like to make lessons interactive rather than simply talking through content. We’ll work through exam-style questions together, look at what is working well and identify exactly what could be improved. I’ll then use this to plan future lessons around the areas the student needs to work on most, with practice and feedback to help them make consistent progress.
Lessons are usually 1 hour and I offer a free 45-minute introductory session so we can get to know each other, discuss the student’s goals and work out what would be most useful to focus on.

My aim is to help students build their confidence by developing their own ideas and learning how to turn them into strong, well-structured exam answers.
• Targeted support: I identify the areas each student finds more difficult, whether that is analysing language, developing interpretations or meeting the assessment objectives, so that we can plan lessons to focus on these.
• Exam practice and feedback: We work through exam-style questions together, with detailed feedback on how answers can be improved and what is needed to reach the highest marks.
• Consolidation: Where appropriate, I give students questions or tasks to complete between lessons so they can practise what we have covered. I can then review their work, provide feedback and use it to plan what we should focus on next.
Lessons are usually 1 hour long and are tailored to the student’s ability, goals and areas for improvement. I also offer a free 45-minute introductory session, giving us the chance to get to know each other, discuss what the student would like to achieve and plan future lessons.

Ashvika has a really good way of breaking difficult concepts down and making sure lessons are focused on what I actually need to improve, whether that’s practising how to structure an answer or identifying gaps in my learning. I also really like how she uses verbal questions and exam-style scenarios rather than just talking through the content, which makes the lessons much more engaging and helps me consolidate what I’ve learnt. Would highly recommend!
I would highly recommend Ashvika, as she is very committed to supporting students in achieving their goals. She is really patient and approachable, and explains concepts clearly, making difficult topics much easier to understand.
