About Melody
A 2nd year student currently pursuing a major in Nutritional Science at UBC. Graduated high school with honours and was accepted into every Canadian university that I applied to: UBC food, nutrition and health, SFU biology, McGill nutritional and environmental science, and UofT biological science. I've always had a passion for academic excellence, particularly in the realms of math and science. At UBC, I've not only embraced the challenges of my major but also found joy in delving into the world of numbers. I believe that a solid foundation in math is crucial for understanding the quantitative aspects of all sciences. This belief fuels my enthusiasm to share my knowledge and help others comprehend the intricacies of mathematics.
Through tutoring, I aim to instill the same sense of curiosity and confidence in others that has driven my own academic journey. Join me and we'll explore math together!

My approach is tailored to each individual's unique needs, challenges, and learning pace.
During our sessions, we will delve into the homework assigned by the student's school, and we will tackle a variety of practice tests to help students identify and learn from their mistakes, ultimately leading to improved grades in upcoming exams.
I am committed to building a strong foundation for each student before progressing to more advanced concepts. Through a variety of problem-solving exercises, students will enhance their ability to apply mathematical principles in different scenarios. To enhance the learning experience, I incorporate online technology into my lessons. This includes interactive tools and resources that make the learning process engaging and dynamic.
Positive reinforcement is a key aspect of my teaching philosophy, as I celebrate students' achievements to boost their confidence and create a positive learning environment. I actively encourage students to ask questions and participate in discussions to foster a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.
At the conclusion of each lesson, I prioritize keeping parents informed about their child's progress. I believe in the importance of parental involvement and actively encourage parents to support their child's learning at home.
