About Paul
Hi, I’m Paul. I’m a UBC Electrical Engineering graduate and currently work as an engineer in Canada. I have a strong background in math, physics, programming, electronics, and problem-solving, and I enjoy helping students understand technical subjects in a clear and supportive way.
As someone who has studied engineering and also learned multiple languages, I understand that difficult subjects can feel overwhelming at first. My goal as a tutor is to make students feel more confident, not judged. I focus on patience, structure, and practical explanations.
I can help students with high-school math and physics, beginner programming, basic electronics, and first-year engineering concepts. My lessons are especially suitable for students who want a calm tutor who can explain things step by step.

I believe good tutoring should make difficult topics feel less intimidating. My approach is patient, structured, and focused on understanding rather than memorization. I like to first find out exactly where the student is stuck, then explain the concept in a clear and practical way using examples, diagrams, and step-by-step problem solving.
In a typical lesson, we review the student’s current questions, identify the missing concept, work through practice problems together, and finish with a short summary of what to review next. I always encourage students to ask questions and explain their thinking, because that is often the best way to build real confidence.
My lessons are suitable for high-school students, first-year engineering students, and beginners learning physics, math, Python, C, electronics, or basic circuits. I am especially happy to work with students who feel nervous or overwhelmed and want a calm, supportive tutor.
