About Maia
Hi! I am a current sixth form student who is studying History, Economics and Politics, as well as an EPQ, who is predicted A*A*A. I have helped tutor younger students for over a year, and this combined with my own recent experience as a GCSE student, allows me to offer help and advice that is relevant to your needs. At GCSEs, I achieved grade 9s in English Literature, History, Biology and Spanish, as well as grade 8s in Physics, Chemistry, Maths, English Language, Classics and Religious Studies. I am able to offer tutoring in all of these subjects, with a list of the exam boards I offer below: Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Maths - Edexcel I/GCSE Classics - OCR Religious Studies (Buddhism and Christianity), English Literature, English Language, Spanish - AQA History - Cambridge IGCSE

- Typical lesson of 1 hour, first one free - In my initial lesson, I aim to understand where the student is at currently in terms of their knowledge of the subject, and how they are able to apply this to exam questions. From here, I will work with them to improve their knowledge of content, how to apply this when answering exam questions to achieve maximum marks, and what strategies to apply when answering questions - The usual structure for each lesson will begin with a quick revision of what was covered in the last lesson through a quiz or using the blurting technique, followed by a presentation of the content being learnt, where the student will be able to take notes, ask questions, etc. - As we approach exams/tests, we will do practice questions as appropriate, going over exam technique and how to maximise marks. - I have helped tutor younger students for over a year, and these lessons are appropriate for anyone aged 14 - 16 working towards their GCSEs in these subjects.

Maia is a super helpful tutor who helped tutor me in History for the IGCSE Cambridge board, and English Literature for the AQA board. She was not only really helpful in developing my essay writing skills and general understanding of how to analyse language, but also provided me with useful notes which supplemented my own knowledge.
Maia has helped tutor younger students within school for a year, and has helped fill significant gaps in their knowledge. She is an extremely knowledgeable tutor, who is able to use her own recent experience of the GCSE process to help students in a productive, and stress-free manner. If you are looking for someone passionate about the subjects they offer, and willing to go the extra mile by providing additional notes, essay structures, etc. I would highly recommend!
