About Lucy
Extensive experience unified with an inherent nurturing, I’ve developed the expertise and perceptiveness to be immensely effective in ones' work. The investment of Tutoring is one which if effective, will yield immensely. It is this difference, in their results but further in the evolving of technique, which will equip them extensively for their future studies. Further to Subject Tutoring, I’ve consulted for clients pursuing Admission to Top Institutions including Eton, Magdalen and Westminster, and Universities including Oxford and Yale.
It is often immensely difficult to identify ones’ own issues, or where within their work to improve in order to secure the higher result. Even within Top Institutions, their work is often not reviewed in sufficient depth or specificity. One is then hindered in insecurity over the route to furthering their work, which is compounded by the highly pressured environment. One of the defining elements of the Tutor is the expertise to identify where is to be worked on, then to develop the focused methodologies for this. The effective Tutor will yield pertinent, insightful perspective. Often its’ not there is insufficient intelligence, it is they’re not equipped with the techniques to employ their knowledge in the form which the course requires. The widening and developing of their knowledge of the subject, further to evolving writing technique, will result in this shift.
One of the origins of this is the number of clients for which I work. I work for few select clients, ensuring I’ve the opportunity to structure Tutoring in response to their unique requirements, to deliver highly-involved, immersed and bespoke Tutoring. Further to flexibility, this ensures I develop in-depth insight into the client. When not Tutoring, I work extensively on structuring the hour, further to reviewing their written work in depth, which is immensely effective in the developing of technique. The Tutors’ work out of the Tutoring hour is of immense import in ensuring every minute of the hour itself is then effective, without the dilutions of other logistics.
I tutor in London and The Home Counties, or through Skype if preferred. I’ve further tutored Intensive Courses for clients residing in Canada, Oman and the US. [NB. Lucy was immensely effective in working with my son in preparation for his Philosophy IB Exam. Her ability to simplify and express more subtle points of argument, specifically Lao Tzu and Plato, with a well-structured pragmatic approach to writing technique enabled him to develop tremendously in the limited timeframe. Lucy is a extremely knowledgable tutor, but it was her ability in truly stimulating his independent thinking and systematic critical enquiry that impacted his result.
