My teaching is tailored towards the student, I like to meet initially to discuss the student's needs and current knowledge and to discuss the material they'd like to cover and their aim (e.g. to pass an exam or resit, to cover the material from a lecture course etc.) and devise a plan towards that aim. All students learn differently, and I pay attention to how students think and approach a topic, and where needed will explain a concept from multiple angles, e.g. visually or by intuition or example. It often helps to take the extreme cases a very simple example to highlight the core ideas and build from there. My areas of speciality Maths - Linear Algebra, Calculus, Constrained Optimisation, Functions and Sets, Integration. Statistics- Sampling, Inference, Hypothesis Testing, Asymptotic Properties of Estimators/tests, Applied Statistics, Probability Distributions and Moments, Advanced Estimation, etc. Finance Micro theory from first year undergrad to postgraduate level. I also have many years experience supervising and assessing dissertations, usually empirical research question, at UG and PG level. Lessons usually 1 to 2 hours.
