About Jessica
Hi! I LOVE SCHOOL! Nerdy, I know. I began my college career at Auburn University, and graduated with a criminology degree and a minor in microbiology. I then attended University of Mississippi and received a Masters in Forensic Anthropology. I worked as a teacher's assistant (TA) for 2 years, teaching undergrad anthropology and archaeology classes. In lieu of pursuing my PhD, I worked for an environmental engineering company, evaluating environmental and wildlife impact from oil spills. I returned to school for my bachelors in nursing, and currently am a surgical/trauma ICU nurse.
I have taught from kindergarten through high school. I realize not every person loves school or is great at every subject, but with help, even troublesome subjects can be understood. I had tutoring in high school and college for math, and I understand how invaluable a good tutor can be!

First, I address what parts a student understands. Then, we delve into the the problem area(s). For some, it can be as simple as explaining a concept in a different way, such as drawing, discussing or having the student "teach" me. Other times, it is best to start at the beginning and move forward at a pace the student is comfortable with. Every person learns in their own way, and I aim to help students find their best path to success.
