About Manuela
I am a translation student about to start my third year of undergrad and I translate from English to French. Prior to starting my translation undergrad program, I went to college and I studied English, French, Spanish and German for two years, although I have only focused on English and French for my undergrad. I have given private one-on-one ESL lessons to a teen for six months to help her pass the subject and I have also given a primary school young child one-on-one lessons in French.

I always base my teaching off of what the student needs and I like to keep a clear structure for my lessons using textbook methodology and examples. I like to have different goals for the student to hit throughout our lessons but, if I see that the student is not responding well to my methodology or that we are going too fast, I readjust the way I explain things and I focus on hitting less goals for the lesson. At the end, I like to make sure that the student has understood the material that we went through before moving on to something else because I'd rather spend more time on something now and have the student understand it instead of moving on to something else and risking for the student to accumulate the things he or she does not understand.
