Teaching Method and Techniques: I use a very direct and clear method. I focus on the fundamentals of good writing and reading. I teach outlining, summarizing, and how to identify the main idea. I provide step-by-step instruction, with many examples and practice exercises. A Typical Lesson Plan: A typical lesson includes a review of previous material or assignments, a focused discussion on a specific reading or writing skill, guided practice with examples, independent practice with feedback, and a wrap-up with key takeaways and next steps. I tailor the lesson to your specific needs, whether it's analyzing a literary assignment, structuring an essay, or improving your overall reading comprehension. What Sets You Apart as a Tutor: I am patient, supportive, and focused on your goals! My background as a UNT Graduate, where I earned two bachelor’s degrees in counseling and applied technology performance improvement, gives me a strong understanding of the academic rigor needed for success. I am a life-long learner working on an associate’s degree from Dallas College. I love reading and writing about literature.
