Central to my teaching philosophy is creating an engaging learning environment that fosters critical thinking skills and empowers students to reach their full potential. By employing interactive methods such as discussions, worked examples, and hands-on activities, I aim to ignite curiosity among students while facilitating deeper comprehension of complex concepts.
At the end of each lesson I expect my students to become more independent in their learning.

My approach to physics is just like the subject itself. There is theory that needs to be learned but the most important thing is that students know how to apply it, not just recite the formula or definitions. My lessons involve short bits of theory with worked examples. As the lesson progresses the examples become more complicated and the scaffolding becomes less, which allows the student to become more independent in their learning.
Typically, my IB lessons are 1.5 hours and IGCSE are 1 hour. The reason is that IB takes time to fully explore a section of the course.
I am a fully qualified UK teacher. I have been teaching internationally for 19 years and all of those years I have been teaching IGCSE and IB Physics.
