About Sonie
I hold an MA in Japanese Language and Culture and have several years of experience teaching Japanese to students of different backgrounds and proficiency levels.

Lessons can take place in the study room of my residence or online, depending on the student’s preference. I generally recommend in-person lessons at my place as they allow for clearer instruction, better interaction, and a more focused learning environment.
My teaching is grounded in current research in second language acquisition. I use clear, structured explanations and carefully selected input to help learners reduce anxiety and build confidence.
Unlike many instructors who focus mainly on conversation practice, I am particularly experienced in guiding absolute beginners and lower-level learners through the foundations of Japanese in a systematic and understandable way.
