About Barbara
I’m a native French speaker and I have lived in London for over 20 years. I’ve taught in schools, colleges, and the University of the Arts. I am currently focusing on A Level students at a London secondary school. I love helping students build confidence, improve their grades, and discover that French can actually be enjoyable and not just another subject. I'm especially passionate about bringing the language to life through culture, film, music, and real-world connections. As a teacher and a mum of three, I understand how important it is for students to feel supported, understood, and motivated. I look forward to helping your child succeed, and even start to enjoy French along the way!

For GCSE and A Level students, I focus on smart exam strategies and regular check-ins, including assessments and past paper practice, to build skills and boost confidence quickly. We do lots of speaking practice too, as this is often where students feel most self-conscious. The goal is for them to feel like confident, capable speakers by the time they sit their exams. I want lessons to be enjoyable and motivating. While I have high expectations for all students, I always adapt to a pace that works for them. I also love using songs in lessons as they’re a fun and effective way to lock in vocabulary and grammar.
