About Princilya

I don't teach French. I build your independence in it.

Not vocabulary lists and grammar drills, but the ability to speak in a meeting, a job interview, or the TEF exam room with the confidence of someone who owns the language rather than borrows it.

I'm Princilya, a French coach in Montreal, native bilingual in French and English, teaching since 2018. I've run French programmes for IBM, Alstom, Lindt, the United Nations and the Government of Canada, alongside private clients: professionals, entrepreneurs and newcomers working toward real fluency.

Because English is also my native language, I can explain a French structure in English when that's faster, then take the English away from you. That's often what unblocks people who have been stuck at the same level for years.

As a self-taught polyglot, I know what it takes to build a language from scratch as an adult. I know the blockers, the shortcuts, and the strategies that actually work on people who are already competent everywhere else in their lives.

My method is grammar integration through dialogue. We don't memorise rules in isolation. We apply them in real conversations built around your field, your level and your goal, until grammar becomes a reflex instead of a chore.

Private 1:1 coaching, or small group classes with people at your level. Both run on the same method: real dialogue, real progress.

TEF Canada, TEFAQ, TCF Canada, DELF, or French to move your career forward in Quebec. Tell me your level, your goal and your deadline, and I'll tell you honestly what it will take.

Every session is built around you. Your level, your goals, your industry. Nothing recycled from a generic textbook.

In both formats, expect
Structured dialogue from minute one. Grammar corrected naturally inside the conversation so it sticks. Vocabulary from your actual field. Verb tenses taught through the relationships between them, not mechanical repetition. Phonetics work so you're understood clearly and speak without strain.

1:1 gives you your pace, your vocabulary, and your exact weak points targeted every session.
Small groups give you the same method with the energy of people working toward the same goal.

Between sessions
Short, targeted review materials built from the mistakes you actually made. No busywork. Just enough to consolidate and arrive at the next session visibly sharper.

For exam candidates: TEF Canada, TEFAQ, TCF Canada, DELF
I know these tests in detail. We work on exactly what the examiner scores: structured oral expression, listening comprehension, written argument, reading speed. You practise under real timing and real criteria, so nothing on the day is a surprise. My students arrive prepared, not surprised.

For professionals
We rehearse the exchanges your job actually contains: meetings, presentations, client calls, emails, negotiations. Scenarios drawn from your week, not from a textbook.

Format
60 or 90 minutes, online or in person in Montreal. Weekly or intensive depending on your deadline. Group classes run at a different rate, just ask.

If you're serious about your progress, I'm serious about your results. Book a first session and we start working from day one.

See you soon,
Princilya

  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

It started when I was very young. I have always loved helping people, and teaching came naturally to me. Whenever someone struggled to understand something, I would find a way to simplify it so it finally made sense. It was only when I started travelling that I discovered my love for languages. Growing up in Montreal, I was already fluent in French and English, but travelling showed me how much a language can open doors and how isolating it can feel when you can't express yourself. That is when I decided to turn my natural teaching instinct into a profession. I have been teaching French since 2018 professionally, and I continue to invest in my training, including my current adult trainer certifications, because my students deserve a qualified and structured teacher.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

I truly love languages, and I speak five myself, so I know firsthand what learning one can do for you. A language can change your life. For some people, it decides where they will live. For others, it means connecting with someone they love, or finally being able to open up to the world. Languages bring us closer together and help us understand each other. I believe one of the most fundamental human needs is to be understood, and my work is to help people be understood and find their place where they belong, or where they want to belong. That is a purpose I am proud of, and it makes me genuinely happy.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

I love helping people reach their goals and seeing them happy when they do. Recently, I worked with a student who could not be reunited with her family until she passed the TEF exam. She had tried many times on her own, but she didn't know the structure of the test. Watching her push through, stay motivated, and finally succeed is exactly why I do this work. I love working with people who have real goals and are simply looking for someone to guide and support them.

What makes me a Superprof is that I am patient, authentic, consistent, and serious about what I do. When I was learning languages, I didn't have the personalized support I wanted, so I am glad I can offer that to others now. Everyone has a different life and a different story, so every student gets a tailored program. I listen, I am empathetic and supportive, and together we build a path that is truly achievable for that person.
  • Do you have any role models, a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

I wouldn't say I have one single role model, but there are people who pushed me to focus on what matters, and I am forever grateful to be where I am today. My biggest inspiration, though, was my dad. He accomplished everything he set out to do in life. He was a pilot, he spoke many languages, and he met people from all over the world. He was very structured and very demanding, and that is how I am with myself today. I think what connects us most is our pursuit of excellence.
  • What are your keys to success?

Patience, being observant, and not being reactive. Being spiritually grounded gives me a sound and clear mind, and my faith is a big factor in my success. Consistency matters too, and so does not being afraid to move forward. One thing I always teach my students is that taking a step is better than taking no step at all, no matter how big or small. Many people are too afraid to do even one small thing, but you have to start somewhere. Don't let your fears take over. Let your hope and your faith guide you toward what you want to achieve.
