About Heidi
My name is Heidi Lopez and I currently hold valid teaching credentials in two states, Arizona and California, including a specialized certification in Standard English Immersion. Once graduating from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education, I went on to teach grades 3, 4, and 5. In addition to this experience, I was a substitute teacher in all grades K-8, including art, PE, technology, and media. Lastly, I am a cheerleading coach.

My goal is to structure my lessons in an engaging, hands-on format with our end goal in mind. My favorite lesson I have ever taught is called “Cookie Division” where my students were given fake cookies that they had to decide how to divide between all members of our group evenly. Of course, these fake cookies were replaced with real cookies they were able to eat at the end of the lesson.
