About Wayne
I am a theoretical physicist with a passion for all things maths and science! I have been involved in several outreach programmes during my degree, having taught physics and maths to students from year 7 to the final year of sixth form. I have also taught several tutorials and problem classes for degree level students during my PhD. I am well aware of the different needs students may have and generally prefer to find out how the student works best early on and alter teaching style based on that. I generally find that letting the student work through problems with my guidance is the best way for science and maths, but I have also taught students with a conversational approach on topics they have been stuck on and I am able to adapt to the students preferences.

I always start a lesson by outlining the plan for the session and why we will benefit from that plan. After confirming all parties are happy with that plan we begin, normally with a discussion about key details. The rest of the session is often based on exam questions and worked examples.

He created a wide range of excellent revision resources including videos, posters and flashcards; which all made learning (even the most complex of topics) both easy and engaging.
He also went through many exams papers, explaining the model answers and detailed solutions in a way that I could understand and reproduce.Wayne worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for undergraduate students in Physics at the University of York. As his line manager, I oversaw Wayne's work with students and marking. He was able to build good relationships with students, and explain difficult concepts clearly. He always kept to deadlines and submitted work on time. He displayed excellent communication skills and I would absolutely recommend him for a job as a tutor with your company.
