About Jon
First-generation US citizen, born and raised on the US-Mexico border, education is something that I cherished because it was a way to move up in the world. When I am not in school, I am reading SciFi/Fantasy, playing video games, or watching TV. Most recently, I have been spending a lot of time watching Ms. Rachel on YouTube with my daughter and rewatching the Capaldi era of Doctor Who with my wife.

I work with students to show them their natural ability in an area and to help them find ways to build upon that ability, no matter how small they might think that it is. Normally, I will work through problems/assignments with a student and explain the concepts they are hung up on. Occasionally, I will craft a full-blown lesson to reteach concepts that they are not grasping in class. I have experience with high school and college students, with 5 years in a high school classroom and 5 years before that as a college tutor.
