About Andrew
I'm 34 years old, married, and have a toddler son. I have been in academia for all of my professional life. I love what I do and love helping students fall in love with philosophy and theology. As you've already read: I have experience teaching both philosophy and theology at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I currently am even supervising PhD students as they write their dissertations. When I'm not teaching and/or researching, I enjoy spending time with my family, taking my son to the playground, and working in the yard.

I approach teaching holistically. I focus on helping students with educational, personal, and character development. I don't have a set method for tutoring because each student is different and is not always in the same place as their classmates concerning the material. I first gauge where the student is in their learning, making sure they are grasping the basics. Then, I focus on where they are in their curriculum, focusing on reading comprehension, note taking, and information synthesis.
What sets me apart as a tutor is that I practice student-focused learning rather than information-focused learning. Learning is as more about students than it is information. More important to me is teaching students how to think rather than teaching them what to think. I focus on students as individuals and show them how learning helps them to cultivate their true selves.
I offer private tutoring lessons for secondary-education, undergraduate, and graduate students.
