About Katie
My first acting role was as an angel in a local production of the Nutcracker 25+ years ago. And while I continued throughout high school and college, it wasn’t until I met my college mentor that I realized what theatre was really about. Sure, it’s fun and we all love the “theatre families” that we make doing various productions, but it’s a lot more than that. It’s about seeing a play and feeling changed as a person, or doing a monologue and feeling a real connection to what you’re saying. It’s about giving a truthful performance and being “believed,” rather than just saying lines that someone else wrote. It took me YEARS (and some great teachers) to achieve this “acting breakthrough” to truly understand how acting is supposed to feel in the soul and I wouldn’t trade that journey of discovery for the world. I would love to help get you started on yours!

To act is to express the human condition, but one of the hardest parts about acting, whether through monologue or song, is showing authenticity. I will help you choose monologues and songs that I feel are right for you and help you work through them to find your truth in the work so you’re ready to nail an audition, a scene in a play, or just to hone your own skills.
