About Atanda

My name is Atanda Joy. I am an experienced English Language tutor with over four years of proven success in both physical and online classrooms. Throughout my teaching career, I have consistently maintained excellent class control while creating a fun and engaging learning environment to help students achieve outstanding results.

I am passionate about working with children and dedicated to helping them grow into confident and capable learners. I believe in combining structured teaching with creative methods to make learning enjoyable and effective. My strong classroom management skills, clear explanations, and commitment to student development set me apart as a tutor.

Teaching is not just a profession for me it’s a passion. I take pride in nurturing young minds and inspiring them to excel in all areas of learning.

About the lesson

1. . When did you develop an interest in your subject and in private tutoring?
I developed an interest in English during my secondary school years. I enjoyed learning the language, especially grammar, and I discovered that I also loved helping others understand it. Over time, that passion grew into a love for teaching and private tutoring.

2. Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).
I teach English, with a strong focus on grammar, reading, writing, vocabulary, and communication skills. I enjoy helping students understand grammar in a simple and practical way, making learning enjoyable and building their confidence. I believe every topic is important, so I always do my best to make each lesson engaging.

3. Did you have any role models? Perhaps a teacher that inspired you?
Yes. My secondary school English teacher was my biggest inspiration. The way she explained concepts, encouraged her students, and made English interesting inspired me to become a teacher myself.

4. What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?
A good tutor should be patient, knowledgeable, encouraging, and a good communicator. They should understand that every student learns differently and be able to adapt their teaching style to meet each student's needs while creating a positive learning environment.

5. Could you share an anecdote related to your subject or your student days?
During my secondary school years, I often helped my classmates understand English grammar before tests and examinations. Seeing them improve and become more confident made me realize how much I enjoyed teaching and supporting others in their learning.

6. Did you face any difficulties at school or university?
Fortunately, I did not face any major academic difficulties. I stayed committed to my studies and always looked for opportunities to improve my understanding of the subjects I enjoyed.

7. Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general, an element of this particular subject, or something completely different?
My greatest passion is teaching. I enjoy helping students learn, gain confidence, and achieve their academic goals. Seeing students make progress and succeed is one of the most rewarding parts of being a tutor.

8. What makes you a Superprof?
I am passionate about teaching, patient with my students, and committed to helping every learner succeed. I explain concepts clearly, especially grammar, and I adapt my lessons to suit each student's learning style. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to help them enjoy learning and become confident in their abilities.
