About Shanna
I have worked with preschool children ages three to five and loved the experience. During this time, I worked as an assistant teacher and taught basic English, art, and technology. This experience really gave me an opportunity to learn about teaching children and develop a passion for it! I really enjoy working with children because I always learn so much from their unique insights! I am very patient and understanding about how difficult it is to learn a new skill so I will make sure to provide a safe and comfortable learning environment for any child of all ages who comes to me for help.

Children often struggle learning phonetics and handwriting. I completed calligraphy classes throughout high school and it’s one of the high school subjects I miss the most! I also received a TEFL certificate qualifying me to teach English as a second language which I would love to apply to teaching children. I have my own lesson plans for both handwriting and phonetics so all you have to do is sign your children up and let me know what their levels are and where you want to go! I think phonetics and handwriting go hand in hand. During the lessons, we will go over basic lettering all while learning about the letter sounds, and also cover some basic reading and conversation to improve on our sounds and pronunciation. This course is yours so I want to adapt it to your needs. Please let me know what it is that YOU and YOUR children want so that we can all work together heading in the same direction.
