About Nicola
I have experience in primary schools, I lived Lanzarote for a couple of years and this gave me experiences with learning and teaching a new language. I worked as a nanny and I love teaching children. the children were between the ages 4 months and 14 years. having a young daughter inspired me to start teaching, the best feeling is when you have the knowledge to share, a friend of mine is Moroccan and speaks Spanish, I am currently helping him learn English using tools like google translate audio and visual and gestures, and video conversations, so this gives me the idea to help others I am currently learning Spanish myself which gives me the skills to teach from a learners point of view and teachers.

My teaching method is listening and understanding in key areas that the student needs help with and praise when needed throughout. Lead in with speaking and listening, setting the task topic. encouraging the student to have more confidence with using the English language, ask for feedback from the students to monitor their speaking and listening skills for future reference or homework, I aim to speak clearly, and in the simplest form, use props for visual learning and will be a fun experience, no pressure and I expect each student to learn at their own pace, use games with familiar topics, setting tasks after brainstorming (for planning skills), and for confirmation of understanding. I will also make sure that the student knows before proceeding on to the written task or speaking task(by simply going over the brainstorm in simplest terms), once the student is confident and starts recognizing words, I will also give alternative words to help the student widen their vocabulary, find the key areas that need improvement for homework also, for my reference and a future lesson plan. Practice makes perfect!.
