About Louise
I have just finished my undergraduate degree at the University of Oxford, and have been tutoring online the whole time I was there, mainly trying to get my students to be as passionate about my subject as I am. I know what it is like to be sitting at school and unable to focus or apply myself, and I want my students to feel motivated to study, while pushing themselves as much as possible.
I have also learnt how to tailor my teaching to students who think differently than I do, which is one of the best parts of tutoring, as I can really help inspire interest in ways suited to those who are learning.
My main goal is to help my students grow in confidence, to share their opinions with me and be unafraid to receive negative feedback. This helps them be more interested in school as well as tutoring, and I hope that what I teach goes far beyond the confines of our lessons.

- I have primarily taught students who need extra support outside of class, helping prepare students for language GCSEs and History and Classics A Levels
- My main goal is to instil confidence and a passion for a subject so students are excited to study in their own time and push themselves further at school
- I am also happy to review school/additional work like essays to help create a low pressure environment for feedback and learning
- I have taught music (piano and theory) to students of all ages, from 4 to 16, and again focus on finding out what students enjoy about music and trying to encourage them to find fun in even the more boring parts
- I have tutored school subjects since I was 16, and first gave music lessons as a camp counsellor in a music camp when I was 17, under the supervision of other teachers, and have since taken on private piano students who I see regularly
