About Brian
I was not that good at math growing up. I did not take calculus till my sophomore year of college and earned a D in Precalc my senior year. However in college when I decided I wanted to become a teacher I took learning and understanding Math seriously. I redeemed myself with an A in Precalc freshman year and worked really hard to double my math classes earn my degree. As a teacher in the classroom I taught Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Advanced Functions, Pre-Calculus and AP Calc. This experience allowed me to not only work with a variety of standard and honors students but better understand the vertical alignment of mathematics students need to understand. I started recording my lessons every day as I taught to my students. I still record videos today to help students not just understand math concepts but infuse the belief that they too can be successful in learning math.

I am not a math genius, I understand what it is like to not get what is going on in class or for a homework assignment. I approach learning math with basic examples and fundamental understanding first. Then once I have received positive feedback we expand to the more difficult concepts the student is trying to learn. Learning math can be hard but that does mean it has to be. I believe a good teacher can identify what the student understands and build the knowledge to understand the material. Working with 1000's of students inside of the classroom and helping millions of students with my online tutorials has given me the confidence that I can help you too!
