My Teaching Approach
As a tutor, I believe that students learn best when lessons are clear, engaging, and connected to real-life situations. My goal is not only to help students get the correct answer but also to develop their confidence, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and independence as learners.
Teaching Methods and Techniques
I use a student-centered approach that considers each learner’s level, learning pace, and specific needs. I explain concepts step by step using simple language, examples, visual aids, guided practice, and interactive activities. I also encourage students to ask questions and explain their own thinking so I can identify areas where they need additional support.
For Mathematics, I often use real-life examples and practical problem-solving activities to make abstract concepts easier to understand. I gradually move from **teacher modeling, to guided practice, and finally to independent practice**, while providing feedback throughout the lesson.
Typical Lesson Plan
A typical lesson begins with a short review or warm-up activity to connect the new topic with the student’s previous knowledge. I then introduce and explain the new concept using examples. Afterward, we work through practice exercises together before allowing the student to solve problems independently.
At the end of the lesson, I assess the student’s understanding through short questions, exercises, or a quick review. I also provide feedback and identify which skills should be practiced further in the next session.
What Sets Me Apart
What sets me apart as a tutor is my patience, adaptability, and commitment to helping students understand rather than simply memorize. I adjust my teaching strategies according to the learner’s needs and make sure that students feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions.
I aim to create a positive learning environment where students gradually become more confident, motivated, and independent.
Who My Lessons Are For
My lessons are primarily designed for **elementary and junior high school students**, particularly learners who need additional support in Mathematics. I can assist students with topics such as basic mathematical operations, fractions, ratios and rates, percentages, algebra, problem solving, and other Grade 7 Mathematics competencies.
I also provide lessons for students who want to strengthen their foundational skills, prepare for examinations, complete practice exercises, or gain greater confidence in Mathematics. My approach can be adapted to different learning abilities, levels, and individual learning needs.
