About Barbara
I have been teaching more than thirty years in PA, NY and VA. I have taught all ages of students in many different settings throughout that time period. I have even worked in a prison setting working with male students who wanted to acquire their GED. They were very successful in their endeavors. I also taught adult ESL students who were then able to communicate better through writing and speaking. With other students I have improved their study habits and their love of lifelong learning.
I have a Bachelors degree in Romance Languages from NY and an Associates Degree in Special Education from PA. I have also taken computer classes (Microsoft Office programs), math classes, and a variety of ESL classes from University of Phoenix.

I am a semi-retired teacher with experience teaching students from grades k thru adult. I have taught students from diverse backgrounds both individually and in groups. I have taught in public and private settings. I prefer doing project-based learning, but all learning is individualized based on students' needs and levels. I also utilize technology and a variety of other methods and strategies in my teaching.
