About Aaron
Since my first experience tutoring English language learners in high school, I have been very interested in helping students to succeed by giving them the support they need specifically for their unique needs, assets and learning styles. I studied Biology at UC Santa Barbara, receiving both Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Secondary Math and Science Education. I taught math and science at a private school for 5 months, and am now a teaching credential candidate at UC Davis.

I believe that each student is capable of success. My job, as a teacher and tutor, is to find out how my students learn, capitalizing on their unique learning style and skills, and strengthening areas that they find less intuitive. Much of my approach involves learning how my students think and leveraging this knowledge to support them in the most effective way possible. Armed with insight as to how we can succeed together, my students and I practice new concepts and skills in several contexts in order to cultivate an authentic fluency in the subject matter. Reading, writing, dialogue (and of course, PRACTICE!) and are tools I use to expand on my students' previous knowledge and preferred learning modalities. I want my students to know they have assets that we can utilize to find success, and that we will work together to always improve.
