About David
I have a bachelor's degree in information systems from Universidade Anhembi Morumbi. I have been in the market for 6 years (small and large companies). I have a project that is called TECHNOLOGY FOR THIRD AGES since 2017. We know that the use of the internet by the elderly is growing rapidly. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the world will have two billion elderly people by 2050. In Brazil, the number of people over 60 will grow even faster than the international average. According to the 2015 World Health and Aging Report, the number of elderly Brazilians will triple by the middle of this century. Today, this portion already represents 12.5% of the population in the country. The internet can bring many benefits for the elderly. In addition to practicality, it exercises reasoning and offers easy access to information on health, well-being and quality of life. In addition, many elderly people suffer from depression and social isolation and tools such as Facebook and WhatsApp help keep them connected to society, especially those who have some kind of physical limitation. Being connected to the world can still help to slow brain aging, keeping the brain active and dynamic, helping to preserve the cognitive process.
